Volunteer for fish surveys

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission conducted fish surveys of the landlocked steelhead/rainbow trout populations above San Antonio and Calaveras Reservoirs from 2001-2005. These surveys will provide useful information for the steelhead restoration projects proceeding in the lower watershed, such as timing of steelhead spawning runs, timing and water flow required for juvenile smolt movement downstream, and population size and genetic makeup of reservoir trout.

To volunteer for future fish surveys on SFPUC watershed lands, contact biologist Brian Sak of the SFPUC. Brian can be reached at (925) 862-5734 or bsak@sfwater.org
